An Invitation To The Party

You can see by my numbers traffic is exploding on this site. People throughout Lynn have displayed an interest in our kids education and a willingness to enter into a discussion of the issues. That's why it troubles me that more of the LSC members, the candidates who want to members, and top administrators of LPS don't contribute to the discussion. Without answers to question, we are to speculate.

So far only Rick contributes from the LSC and only Delores from the candidates. Looking at this bloq's numbers, those members and candidates do so at their own peril. We need to know your position on the issues important to us and our kids.

  1. i think that rick contributes because he is the new guy on the school committee and is a little scared of being pushed out! I have not heard much about him and never met him. but I was told by another special ed. parent that he has been protecting vinny and his comments about special ed. children and parents. well, I would have to say that he does not belong on the committee if that is the case. also just fixs cars? that is what i was told. I am new to this site and have been reading many of the blogs, I am not impressed with his comments and feel that he sounds mad and is trying to hard to explain himself. if not guilty of anything, why do you feel the need to explain so much. Why?
as for the rest of the committee, I have not heard much from them. it appears that once they are elected they disappear until election time. Just for that, I say give that new girl a chance Delores DeFilippo She sounds like she knows alot about special ed and cares. I like that she has a child currently in the schools. where has Donna gone? oh, i was told she moved. did she also move on the school committee? so many things to consider this time.
i thank you for this blog and being able to talk about my concerns. will visit again.

  2. Stanley,

It's an election year...the real one's are the one's with you now...the others who come on board will do so only TO GET THE VOTE!!! Dolores has a passion about children, spec needs children, parents, schools, teachers, principals, school supplies, etc.

Rick has been on the SC and he is NOT FULFILLING HIS OBLIGATION AND THAT IS HE TOOK AND OATH TO WORK FOR THE CHILDREN/PARENTS, NOT WORRY ABOUT DR. LATHAM, OTHER SC MEMBERS, AND JUST DO THE RIGHT THING...Rick does have a kind side but needs to take the bull by the horns and motion to correct things!

I truly believe Dolores & Rick would be the best one's to be on the SC...simply Rick a teacher and Dolores a Specialists with Special Needs children and her extended educational background and college degrees...last election she shared with me her educational background and if you looked at her resume you would be very satisfied with her! The two have the educational part in common.

    Please vote D & R!

  3. Thank you Positive Feedback Person...as well as Stanley.
I am truly committed to getting things done and feel that we need to have people who can work together for that very cause. I would be delighted to be on the SC board with Rick. I do feel that he has been trying to do the right thing and educate himself about things, but I feel he needs support and help from other Sc members. My hope is that enough people in the city with an interest in the "best education for all of our children", will give me the opportunity to serve on the School Committee and begin the process of positive changes. I am not afraid to ask the questions and demand the answers. I do not work in the City of Lynn and have no family member who is employeed by the City of Lynn. So we are not afraid to demand answers! My child's education and future are at stake just like most of yours. We can do better and I will work to make things better.

  4. Usually I like to comment on everybody's comments, but you two have said it all.

  5. This is an election and some people may want to contribute just to get votes, but that mask will quickly fall off and the passion show through or lack thereof.
