I called Marshall today at about 915 am. He was not there and the secretary and she had no idea and referred me to Dr. Cowdell? Less than an hour later, I received a phone call from an official at Marshall. I was at the laundromat so I couldn't hear real clear but he gave me the following information.
All three middle schools had a random security check. I asked him a specific question, "Were drugs found?".
He said he believes some were found. I REPEAT HE SAID HE BELIEVES SOME DRUGS WERE FOUND!
This is UNBELIEVABLE! Where is the ITEM? I will let you know when I find out more.
Looking at police log for 3/15 shows at Marshall there was a police report written for drugs possession made - Pickering and Breed evidently had none found.
ReplyDeleteI did notice that evening that LVTI had vandalism report - DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY +$250, MALICIOUS c266 S12
I'm saddened to hear that students would possibly have drugs @ Marshall...drugs are all over this city and believe it or not even younger children are exposed to them...across the State children have been used as drug runners for their parents (NOT ALL CHILDREN)...it saddens me that anyone would develop such an addiction that they battle with being an addict for the rest of their lives... it's crack cocaine, heroin, alcohol, etc...it hurts the family and I tried endlessly to help my brother stop drinking...my brother came from a great family, we wanted the best for him, but in the end we couldn't handle him and he chose the streets...he passed away in his early 50's breaking the hearts of all of us he left behind...with this said please note it's NOT POSSIBLE FOR ALL SCHOOLS TO BE PERFECTLY DRUG FREE...drugs is an endless job for law enforcement...the jails are over crowded as it is and then the get off on technicalities, which makes a law enforcement officer's job extremely dangerous and difficult...imaging having to surround yourself as a detective with dealers trying to stop the war on drugs...just hope and pray the students with the drugs have parents who will reprimand them, get help, and care about their youngster...Mr. Andy Fila did a great job cleaning up that school years ago making it so much easier for whomever he left the principalship behind to do...everyday we have someone around us where we work, go to college, go to school, in the car, on the bus, etc. that is a user and possible addict...how do we totally prevent this would be through lectures/educating the students...possibly bringing DARE back into the schools would be a good idea...THE BEST WAS WHEN THE JAIL INMATES CAME IN TO SPEAK TO THE STUDENTS AND TOLD THEM THE REAL LIFE BEHIND BARS...KIDS NEED TO SEE AND HEAR FROM THE BAD GUY SO THAT THEY DON'T END UP IN JAIL THE REST OF THEIR LIFE...let's look at the bright side the other schools were clean and 1 out of 3 is pretty good...as for the destruction that could have been anyone; not necessarily a student who attends LVTI...let's promote the positive, work together, and get the inmates back to give the students a reality check...get the parents in and get them involved with their children and that's not always easy...there should be some sort of law...you have a minor and they get caught with drugs you attend NA meetings so they can see the many young people who battle day to day with addiction...sometimes it's a result of the child using due to divorce, depression, and peer pressure...Officer Ferrari may be extremely helpful with this and be able to get a handle on it with the help of Administration...good luck, keep up the good work, and take it one successful day at a time! Give the staff at all schools the credit for doing their best to keep our children safe everyday and free of drugs! Thank you!
