WHO IS THE ONE HIDING?

From - http://lynnschoolwatch.blogspot.com/2015/04/the-education-of-candidate.html

Why don't you pick up the phone, "Anonymous" so we can have a real discussion about the people I represent, like teachers, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, clerical staff, school nurses, public librarians and custodians to name a few, some of the most poorly hourly wage workers that we give a voice to on the job. As for benefits like HEALTH INSURANCE and public pensions, it should be noted that the employee is funding the vast majority at 11% of their current salary and that the average support staff worker must work 40 years to realize and average pension of 25K a year in retirement. So, the ball is in your court, pick up the phone and call me anytime to discuss my role and how I support worker voice and leveling the playing field against big greed and corporate privatization of public education. 617 974-1243 I am AVAILABLE anytime. Thanks, Brian

  1. So every Public Union can rally against one person who asked questions.... Good luck with that!

  2. If you really want change you need to put a face to your complaints.

  3. I'm a teacher and I dispise the bumping game of classroom preference of seniority that threaten my job, my classroom that I grow to love. Please end the bumping game Brian. We are not fairly represented.

  4. True but then you can't rationally expect people to automatically vote your way.

  5. Big Greed and Corporatization of public education for private?

Excuse me Brian, but the administrators and teachers of charter schools work longer hours and make less money than public administrators and teachers. They work hard for the children. Who is more greedy?

The Fenix School charter which you opposed was a group of local parents (voters) that wanted to steer their child's education and fill gaps unfulfilled by public education....which you steered as demonic and greedy.

Trust me I would love to see new faces on council. But not the same regime. Tell me you are more open to public thought than what a clique tells you is right. Are you an independent voice? Why are you running?

    1. And private education spends more money in building improvements, fixing leaks, painting, more money on curriculum. Public schools let their buildings rot.

  6. Anonymous, my offer still stands, pick up the phone and call me directly, today at 617 974-1243. I wish I had more time to debate over this blog but I am very busy having dialogues with voters that have a string voter history and that will vote for change in Lynn this Fall and I would rather put my time, energy and thoughts into those folks rather than someone called anonymous. I wish you well. Off to meet more voters now!

    1. Brian, running for office an be difficult. I would like to hear your answers openly, in 'this blog' with all due respect to Stanley and his readers.

It is early in the race. One bit of advice. Never say you will only talk to a voter, because it may come off as not wanting to represent everyone such as children... by which led this discussion concerning the net school spending, because the children didn't have a say... Did they?

  7. Charter schools have unqualified teachers and there is a huge turnover. They have to be on call 24 hrs. a day. They take public school money so they can afford to keep their schools updated.Having worked as a Para for over 25 years in Lynn, I have seen many things. I have known Brian for a long time, great teacher and Union man.
