Okay so the picture is sideways, c'mon I am sick, Stomach flu you know. The point is that when we entered the FORD SCHOOL last night these kids lunch tables were sat up for us. Now I am not the most nimble but I dare say most of the thirty or so adults that showed up would have had trouble sitting.
We got some regular sized chairs and slid over some adult sized tables and carried on. Makes you wonder if some subliminal message was being sent to the community.
WE ARE SUPERIOR, NOW JUST GO HAVE FUN AT YOUR KIDDIE TABLE.
Surprisingly the only political figure present was SCHOOL COMMITTEE CANDIDATE NATASHA M&M. Now NATASHA has expressed in the past her undying love for KIPP and all things charter. I believe this would put her at odds with every other candidate. I have made it no secret how I feel about the funding of charter schools.
That being said, she was there and no one else was. Not to mention with the GOV.'S penchant for charter schools, the likelihood of the CAP being lifted, NCLB rising from the ashes, and the local approval of the expansion of KIPP, she can contribute to a conversation we should be having.
