Dr. Latham,

According to sources at the DESE the Mayor recently added 1.7 million dollars to LPS to honor a commitment she made last year during the budget process. The addition was meant to help narrow the Net School Spending Deficit.

Happily the amount was 700,000 dollars greater than initially promised. I do believe the public is entitled to a detailed accounting of just how that money was actually spent. I am sure you understand the need for transparency.
