SHE MAY NOT GET ALONG WITH HER TEACHERS BUT HER "BANKER" LIKES HER JUST FINE

Three more years for Lynn superintendent

Three more years for Lynn superintendent

How many of you can do BAD at your job and be rewarded with a 8% raise? Oh I forgot to properly set the stage - "You now will be making $207, 000 a year".

Don't worry, more problems are coming. At least the raise counts toward REDUCING the NET SCHOOL SPENDING deficit. Funny, the MAYOR who is MOST responsible for that debt probably cast the deciding vote for the raise. I guess JUDY didn't want to be the only one with an OVERCROWDED wallet.

AT LEAST SHE COULD HAVE AFFORDED A NEW PIC.

  1. No surprise here! We all knew the same 4 members would vote to renew. The students of LPS are forced to sit in hot/cold, overcrowded, dilapidated classrooms. Many do not even have a classroom to sit in and are forced to sit in a hallway, closet or some other area. Many classrooms do not have windows, or windows that open. Some do not have essential resources and supplies, or have ones that are old and outdated. We have schools without libraries and libraries without librarians and adequate books. We have schools without gymnasiums or cafeterias. The very little time students do get to unwind is spent in a parking lot, which many of the school yards have become. How much money was spent to update Bennett St.? I wonder how city and school leaders and administrators would feel if they had to work in the same conditions as our students, with the same limited supplies and resources? Our schools are being shorted $18 million this year alone. Meanwhile, the Mayor is advocating and voting for raises not only for herself, but for other city and school leaders and administrators. The majority of the school committee, who were elected to represent the schools, including the students, also voted for these raises. Who is standing up and speaking up for the students of this district? When will they get the same representation as those receiving exorbitant salaries and raises? I think it's time the students of LPS found themselves a union!

  2. Such a shame it is not as beneficial to sit in a classroom as it is to sit in an office on Bennett St. If it were, perhaps student performance and test scores would improve.
