Dear Mr. Iaribino,

As was learned from a copy of an email sent from Lynn City Clerk, Mary Audley, a sufficient number of certified signatures have been sent to you mandating that a public hearing be held concerning the decision to cut all ties with Gordon College Please notify me at your earliest convenience of the day you intend to hold such a hearing, I realize that the timing coincides with the need to get a budget passed but the charter does mandate that such a hearing be held in a timely manner.

Given the gravity of the issues at stake the importance of both sides expressing their points of view so that a balanced and appropriate resolution can be reached. Reaching such common ground is, of course, time sensative' Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

Sincerely,

Stanley H. Wotring, Jr.

  1. Per the city charter, the school committee has 3 months from the time the petition was filed with them to hold a public hearing. The remaining signatures were certified and sent to Tom the end of February, so the public hearing must be held by the end of May. Only a 7 day notice for the public needs to be given and my guess is that is all that will be given. Therefore, we won't know the date of the public hearing until some time around the 3rd week in May.
