There will be a LSC meeting tomorrow night
Before it ends they'll slip out of sight.
To discuss how high the raises will go.
Decisions on how the money will be spent
Before the public can give consent.
For failures we are sure to reward
Much more than we can afford.
Remember the $1.7 million Jacqueline Reis, the spokesperson for the DESE, mentioned the Mayor recently allocated to the schools? Well guess what? Based on what I heard, the students did not receive a dime of it. The entire amount went to raises. Raises for teachers and paras, I am OK with. They deserve it and are still underpaid! However, raises given to secretaries and administrators that already have ridiculous salaries is unacceptable! When you follow the money that LPS gets, it really is no wonder it is one of the lowest performing districts in the state! It is such a shame it doesn't pay to be a student in LPS as much as it does to be an employee.
ReplyDeleteThat comment poses some interesting questions about the accountability of that dispensation. I believe a letter is order.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Mayor and school committee have a clue how beneficial $18.6 MILLION would be for the 15,000 plus students attending LPS? The school business manager will be one of those benefiting from the $1.7 million. He is one of the individuals responsible for the NSS crisis, yet he is rewarded with yet ANOTHER raise. When will the students in this city start getting rewarded and be able to reap some benefits? Disgusting!!
ReplyDeleteI believe it is the taxpayers who are being SCHOOLED.
