LETTER ABOUT TUESDAY'S BUILDING & GROUNDS SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING

Dear Lynn School Committee members,

Since your intentions are unclear from the vaguely posted agenda for Tuesday night’s Building & Grounds sub-committee meeting about what you are proposing to do with the Ford garden I felt it necessary to write to remind you of some crucial facts.

The mere existence of the International Garden at Ford School is due in large part to the tireless efforts of David Gass through the Highlands Coalition. The fact that there are even whispers of any thoughts of excluding anything less than their integral involvement would be a travesty that would reverberate throughout the community.

Given the financial difficulties being experience by LPS, questioning the fiscal solvency of HICO is not only hypocritical but shows an open hostility towards working with the community. I am speaking not as a member of the Highlands Coalition but as a parent of alumni of Ford School, past volunteer, and member of that community.

Hopefully you can come to some understanding that allows for the proper expression of the history of personality of the Highland community.

Sincerely,

Stanley H. Wotring, Jr.
