CORRUPTION WITH CLASS

Below is an except from a CITY OFFICIAL concerning the choosing of the BROOKLINE site for building a new MARSHALL SCHOOL:

Another thing to keep in mind is that the taking of the Brookline site solved a difficult political and legal problem for the City. The owners of the property were proposing to build a significant apartment complex on the prop
erty. Although they claimed it would be occupied by higher end, market rate renters, both City officials and neighbors were skeptical and concerned that the site would end up servicing a lower income, section 8 population, which would negatively affect the neighborhood. In addition, there were legal concerns that the City might not be able to prevent the proposed project from going forward. The takings eliminated these problems by providing a property use that was politically more acceptable to City officials and neighbors.

I don't know about you but that doesn't sound to me like EDUCATION was the highest priority on the list.

I may get in trouble for putting this out there but hey, I got NO money to lose, my e mails are already BLOCKED from LPS and JAIL would actually solve some of my housing problems.

HEY......

come to think of it I have been on the EMERGENCY housing list for about a year....maybe, just MAYBE....

this was all part of a master plan to go after me.

SNEAKY #$%*&!

You know the really funny part, I mean in a sad ironic way?

The same city councilman who voted to override the MAYOR'S veto on the new foreclosure ordinance voted to potentially prevent AFFORDABLE housing.

  1. listen to Cyr in ward debate on lynncam tv when he says vote for the school even if to not for him. one has to wonder if his concerns are more with poor section 8 people moving into his ward rather than rebuilding on the existing marshall site. ah ah. Stan has balls. Vote for Stan!

  3. Who wrote that - what city official is that a quote from? - what date was on the email and to whom was it sent? Lynn has far surpassed its quota for Section 8 housing. They don't need to be building more units in this city.

The email was sent on Wed July 31, 2013 by Peter Caron to various constituents.

    1. I may need that boat to ESCAPE. The backlash from some of the other candidates can be brutal.

    3. Take 2/

      Stanley,
there is a row boat at the wharf. Lynn's boundaries extend to low tide. You are safer in the water. Nice find. Good luck.

why is MSBA saying the school will be rebuilt on the same site when lynn's officials are using a different address?

    1. “Listening to the needs of a community and developing projects accordingly are priorities at the MSBA, and the Thurgood Marshall Middle School project is a case study in that sentiment,” said Treasurer Grossman.
