I'll have some of what DR. LATHAM was drinking last night, On one hand she appeared to be decrying the burden that all these NEW immigrant families on the overcrowding issue then said don't worry cause class size doesn't affect LEVEL 4 status, test scores do.
In almost the same breath she talked about a new DOE mandated course for all ELL teachers. Why are we having that? Maybe because the state recognizes the importance of being able to communicate affects TEST SCORES.
It kind of makes you wonder how having more kids in a room speaking different languages and in Lynn I believe there are two or three different ones, doesn't affect communication and HENCE test scores.
WHAT WAS IN THOSE WATER PITCHERS?
Maybe they had a different meeting on cable, but what I heard was that it is all teachers that are required to take the course, not just ELL.
