"I was at an event this weekend and had a conversation with about 25 Lynners about the $4 million bond and the roughly $65 million new Marshall. While some agreed many of the projects planned for the $4 million bond do need to be done eventually, they all agreed that it was very unfortunate and unbelievable that barely any of the money was being used for improvements to the many deplorable school buildings which need and should be done immediately. All of them agreed that a city's school system is the most important asset to that city and should be the main priority when deciding where money should be spent and that one of the biggest problems with Lynn is the officials always considers the schools last, if at all! However, NONE of them said they would vote yes to building a new Marshall for several different reasons, but mostly because of the additional millions it will cost taxpayers, on top of the 4 million bond. It was a very interesting conversation!" |
