LEARNING RIGHTS FROM WRONGS

At the center of tonight's EQUAL RIGHTS FORUM at  FORD School was the need for EDUCATION to overcome the struggles posed on the inequalities of the masses. The walls were decorated with posters detailing many of MARTIN LUTHER KING'S accomplishments. Fairness must be learned and what better place to learn than a school?

LSC members DONNA COPPOLA, MARIA CARRASCO, and RICK STARBARD were among the participants in the almost full house. Also in the crowd were COUNCILMEN TIM PHELAN and HONG NET, joined by Former COUNCIL CANDIDATE MIGUEL FUNEZ and Former STATE REP. CANDIDATE GARDY JEAN FRANCOIS. GARDY called officials on the carpet for disenfranchising a growing portion of LYNN voters by taking the voting from FORD SCHOOL and keeping it away.

MLK's lessons transcend race, creed, or color.

  1. Voting should not be done at ford school...it disturbs the entire school day, there is no place to park for voters and it is dangerous to have kids around people jockeying for spaces...come on, that is why administration has professional, days whenever possible, during elections.m northshore has a huge parking lot...the terrain is flat and it is centrally located and very near public transportation.

    1. As far as disrupting the school day, well often elections don't occur during school thanks to teacher professional days. That;s probably why they already vote at SISSON, ENGLISH, and SHOEMAKER. You are right about the importance of public transportation which is not really available in the HIGHLANDS.
