SCHOOL SAFETY SUSPECT?

Key pads, bolted doors, even armed guards can't GUARANTEE our kids safety at school. If someone wants to do evil, they will find a way in. There is no way you can make enough improvements to the physical building.

What do we do? I guess we could just throw our hands and give up...Looking for answers at that angle is to REACT TO THE PROBLEM and.....

I believe our efforts will be better spent in PREVENTION and that is through EDUCATION. Money needs to be spent on programs and direct services, not on administrators raises and car allowances..

Ignoring our children's needs will only lead to future tragedy.

  1. Do you have any idea what you are talking about....we go through countless drills, talks, instructions, staff development ,etc etc buzzers , bells , alarms, badges ......thanks to the highly paid and well educated superintendent and police who are worth every penny they get.

    1. my point is your boss can not do any more, I am sure that the school in CONN. had the same sort of procedures. All we are doing is trying to build a better barn door to close once the cow has left the building. We need to be more proactive. But what do I know, I am sure that I don't have an advanced degree like you.

    1. You couldn't get enough firepower there to prevent every situation and even if you could, would you want to raise your kids in a world like that?
