Coming home from my BOSTON STREET OFFICE this morning a car pulled over by ST. PIUS to talk. Nowadays I'm very suspicious when cars pull up beside me. What really raised my fears was the fact that I was right by both a church and a funeral home, CUFFE-MCGINN (there you go Loretta, a shameless plug).
"DON'T SHOOT, I WON'T TALK NO MORE ABOUT THE BOND, I PROMISE!"
Phew, it was only DELORES.
REMEMBER HER? I may have, used to, perhaps, on occasion misspelled her name a little. Okay a lot, but can you blame me? She had more than her share of consonants going on.
To everyone's surprise, she lost the last election. Heaven knows she had the signs. Seeing her name in so many yards helped me greatly with my spelling deficiency.
After the primary her campaigning tailed off because she let family issues take precedence over her election. Imagine that a candidate with family values. I hope she runs again.
Did you already forget the classless way that she handled her defeat????
ReplyDeleteYou do have a valid point. I guess I am just so disgusted with a majority of the people on the LSC now, I let my frustration and desperation get to my head. In her defense, she had a LOT going on but then again doesn't everybody?

What was really happening to me and my family.....shame on you Stanley and others for NOT understanding. My mother in law was dying during the election and had to be rushed to the hospital on election day. She died on Thanksgiving Day that election year! So, shame on you for NOT having compassion. I am a parent of a child with disabilites and I payed close attention to the elections/debates! Not one person, besides Mrs. Difilippo truly appeared compassionate and qualified to be on the school committee. I do not know her, but was very disappointed she did not get in. My husband and I voted for her only! Our first thought was that the election was fixed. We still feel that way and believe that the people in city hall are a disgrace. They do anything to remain in their positions and do not care about us or our children. What is even more suprising is that not one of the school committee members have children currenlty in the schools or have even visited most of the schools. Yet, they make decisions for our children. Do they even know or understand IEP's or 504's, no librarys, no supplies, no support etc., schools needing numerous repairs etc. Patty forgot where she came from and we use to vote for her.
ReplyDeleteWe attended the debates and found Mrs. Difilippo to be the most qualified. She was professional and really compassionate about wanting to help. It is so upsetting that people attack people on blogs and hide behind anon. Call Mrs. Difilippo, she is asking you to. I am sure you will get a little education.

I haven't commented on this blog in a longgg time LOL...I just want to say give Dolores a call...we all know who you are and feel sorry you are letting others lead you in the wrong direction...pretty sad a few you are close with were going around harrassing DiFillipo supporters on Walnut St. to take her signs down to put up your candidate...nothings a secret, call Dee, and I have to agree you will get an education of the real truth...it's sad that you can't tell her face to face as she does with everyone; rather than signing Anon...she also chose the high road not to expose the truth going to the media or to the Election Commission...I was on her committee and there wasn't one event she missed, not one phone call she didn't return, she listened to everyone, and she always is willing to weigh, agree, and agree to disagree without holding a grudge...she is not predujice like the rumors that were spread by your friends...it's sad we know who you are and why can't you just call her...nothing is a secret and never was as to what you were doing...you get more with honey and you may need some help from her sooner than you think LOL!

Dolores was the only person who helped me with my children in the LPS system and not only atteneded meetings with me, but she understood the school system and got it done! I owe her dearly! I was truly impressed with her professionalism and excited to have her on the school committee. God only knows the evil dealings that took place to keep such a wonderful, caring and dedicated person off the committee.
We parents know the truth, unfortunately, we have to remain anon for fair of losing what we have for our children or fear of retaliation by the administration and others!
So you see Stanley, you and others do not really know the women, because if you did, you would not be agreeing or saying such foolish things about her.
We hope she runs again and will working very hard for her to make sure it happens this time.

ReplyDeleteYou are so right...it was a few little groups who felt threatened by Dolores...she is smart, quick on her feet, tells the truth, and listens to all involved...she knows about children, has a ton of experience with special needs children - Autism, knows how to get things done, and her son is a student in the system, and Dolores is ALWAYS doing something for the children and families in this city...she has a very close group of friends who are well liked, respected, and down to earth people who respect all people...I can't agree with you more Michelle...we are hoping she considers a run for SC since the last time was nothing but the SAME OLD DIRTY POLITICS GOING ON...you know pictures tell a 1,000 words LOL...maybe we need to share them soon...hope to see you soon Michelle!

A smart,educated, strong woman.....people in this city managed to try and ruin. Then we wonder why we have no new faces coming forward. She is a perfect example of what happens in politics when you are too smart, honest and caring. Most of all, people know she would not make illiegal deals, like most of the elected officials do in this city! Such a shame, we really hope she decides to run again. We have a very large group, including attorneys waiting to get involved this time. Just say the word Dolores! Oh and plenty of Latinos too. She is NOT racist or prejudice, like Maria Carrassco was telling all of us! Now, we know who is the real snake, it is you Maria!

I like DELORES....BUT... I am getting more than a little tired of all this crying over conspiracies. It does exist, discrimination in all forms does exist. Her loss was not due to evil factions. She quit pretty much campaigning. She had a LOT of personal stuff going on. Not to mention she made some strategic mistakes, Move on, be the better person.

FIrst of all Stanley, you do not know me and you were and are not a part of my campaign. So, to make such a follish statement on your blog is disgusting!
I know for you it is all about your numbers (trying to hit 200,000) but you will not be doing that at my expense or my families/campaign members. You were not on my campaign nor did you contribute in anyway to my campaign. You have no right to say I quit. I did not quit, even with a family crisis happening at the time. I did not look for or ask for sympathy. I attended every function, campaigned very hard and never stopped trying to secure a seat on the school committee. As for strategic mistakes, it is very clear to me that you have no clue who to trust or listen to.

ReplyDeleteIn case you haven't noticed people usually get elected to school committee first and then on to CAL. She has already failed at School Committee twice, this last time finishing LAST. You are right I don't know one thing about Delores, that's because she keeps changing her story. Yeah I know she's not prejudice because she told me so, touting somebody in her family is married to somebody Spanish. I guess that is her Scarlet Letter, a cross she brags to bare. Her sincerity is more than a little suspect.
