Now in NESOPOTAMIA. the EQ was worried about perceived threats to her power. Ruling with the public's checkbook, she rewarded those NOBLES who swore allegiance to her rule by openly confessing their support for her DYNASTY. Of course this did not completely mean that whispering couldn't be heard in the halls because it could.
One gizzled citizen even went so far as to air the qqueen's dirty laundry out in public (not a pretty sight). He became a wanted man. In fact many were afraid to be friends with him lest they be smiten with EQ'S angry wrath.
Anyway all the nobility got raises in their allotment (thanks to trash taxes ticketed by vermin vixen, the rat witch) spare three renegades. One was thought to be in cohoots with the grizzled citizens but that myth became dispeled when he did his best work while he was away on vacation in the mountains. Another who had been ruling his little serfdom a LONG time actually took a pay cut by some calculations. While the third was even a close relative of an advisor to the court.
Now EQ became increasingly nervous,paraanoid even, as the grizzled citizen/ traveling minstrel started getting many boisterous followers and EQ became worried about the duration of her reign.....
