Posting of Grants Manager Position – Dr. Latham
Yeah, they are going to talk about this in a Sub-committee before they pass the BOGUS BUDGET on AUGUST 2. Didn't the city just hire someone in a similar position a few months back and the last thing I read in the ITEM we got ZERO RETURN on our investment in his salary. In fact the success we have had has came from city employees already on the payroll.
What a another waste of our tax paying dollars!
ReplyDeleteJust like Judy hired an IP person ken weeks for 20,000 a year, not from Lynn. He is now making approx. 70,000 for two days work a week.
At this point they have already lost out on numerous grants. Why bother now? Lets find out why they harrassed then fired Andy Lapey (nice lady) for NO REASON or because she would not lie for Latham.

Whatever the case, it is true that nice does not egual competent, but please show me competence in the mayors office or lps administration. It is sad that they have banded together to screw our families and make our children suffer. SHAME ON THEM! As for my BIG MOUTH, it will remain WIDE OPEN. Lots to say and will make sure the right people are in office SOON! If you are SO smart you would KNOW what an IP person is. Go ask JUDY or are you talking from her office?
Unemployed currently, so I can't speak for incompetence in either place but I've heard of an IT person(Info Tech), just not an IP person? Never said I was SO Smart, but just maybe a bit smarter than some of the people who post silly facts and theories on here. Although it is entertaining at times and quite humorous.

Volunteer, I need to get paid! Please stop putting words in my mouth. I did not say Stanley's blog was trash, just some of the Anonymous postings are silly, written by people who think they know things but really don't, like yours. Maybe I should apply for an IP position. What is that?
ReplyDeleteLPS recieves substantial amounts of money from the federal and state governments...someone competent need to know how to legally spend that...aka ...a grants person...it is. Full time 5 day per week position and very important never mind applying for oth

Yes luckily for Dr. Latham LPS does get substantial amounts of money from the government, which she does a great job of spending on Commercial Street and not on the schools and classrooms. If LPS didn't get so much funding, how would she be able to help all her friends and supporters get jobs and raises? Also, there is a reason LPS gets all this substantial money from the government....because it is a failing school district riddled with under-performing and failing schools. I was told by Dr. Latham and Jaye Warry that one of the reasons she needed another deputy was so they could handle grants because it is such an involved process that they needed a qualified person to do it. What happened to that story? The bottom line is this....until we no longer have deteriorating school buildings, over-crowded schools and classrooms, a lack of necessary supplies and resources in our classrooms and failing MCAS scores....money should not be spent on raises to administrators or on new administrator positions. I think Dr. Latham has spent a lot of time, effort and money taking care of Commercial Street, it would be great to see her taking care of O'Callaghan Way, Walnut Street, Gardiner Street, Conomo Ave, Ontario Street, Porter Street and all the other streets our schools are on.
DeleteANON 1221 forgive me, think I misjudged you. As for the position, they label positions the way the want in order to give the job to friends. For example: my friend was hired in Lynn for one of the specialty positions, they asked for her resume and they tailored the job to her resume. This practice has been going on in Lynn for years!
ReplyDeleteI guess I am bitter and may shoot my mouth off, but I am sick of this system and my children getting screwed. I tried the right way and legal way to get them services. All I hit are brick walls in this city.
I finally went to DESE, state/federal reps. They are investigating this city and the school department. For now, I am aware that numerous LPS staff/Mayors office are writing on Stanleys blog. Stanleys blog gives us a platform to vent and come together. Hope more parents and concerned citizens join to fight for honest, truthful government in Lynn.
