Why pre- tell am I raising all that ruckus about the ASBESTOS at FORD SCHOOL? Yeah it's a cancer causer but.....I'm surer the school is loaded with other contaminants, some natural (mold) and many man-made.
HOWEVER.....
I don't necessarily think that oft-targeted population is being targeted. I raise these issues to get you thinking, Our challenges must be brought to the forefront. We need to know about them to face them/
BELIEVE ME.....
this is not a problem isolated to one school. We have 25 or so other schools across the district with their own LEAD and ASBESTOS problems. We must address them for both our kids and their TEACHERS health. SECURITY takes many forms.
Just because PAY starts with a "P" doesn't make administrators double digit raises a PRIORITY. These OLD school buildings, well, have been old for a while. It's not like the CURRENT COVER-UP CRISIS has snuck on us. Decisions were made and you see what was put first.
Even before her 25 THOUSAND DOLLAR raise, our SUPERINTENDENT was the HIGHEST paid city employee.
We have an ailing, failing district. Do you think paying more for what we already had still makes sense? We have helped make our own environment.
