AYP, NO MORE? WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

Well this poet sure don't know. The rhetoric surrounding all the possible changes do sound interesting, but I'm afraid there are more questions than answers. Of course that's the way with any change. The only way you can have all the answers is to stay the same and well we didn't have all the answers (hence failing) and that's why we are changing, WAIT A MINUTE, I'M GETTING DIZZY WRITING THIS! It's kind of like a dog chasing its tail.

On the surface, this micro-accountability this new DART system, http://www.doe.mass.edu/apa/dart/, will provide could empower parents to demand more from their school systems but it should surprise no one who knows me, NUMBERS SCARE ME. I wake up in cold sweats when I dream of the number 3. Luckily, I was only around the number 2 for 5 months and I didn't even need a lawyer.

  1. I found out today from the DOE that not using AYP, will NOT change Lynn from being a level 4 district and will NOT change Harrington and Connery from being level 4 schools. However, any school currently in level 1 to level 3 status, could change somewhat (which is the remainder of our schools)
