HOW'S THIS FOR TRANS-PARENT-CY?

Dear Hank,
I am writing to inform you of my petition campaign to force the Lynn School Committee to hold a public hearing on their decision to not to post the superintendent's position to allow a fair and equitable competition from the public to be able to select the best possible and most qualified candidate. Earlier on the night of February 9, 2012. the Personnel sub-committee had voted 2-1 to post the position. LSC member Patricia Capano was the sole dissssenting vote.
Later that night, acting as chair because the Mayor was not present at the regular meeting she waived the residency requirements for OPEN MIKE to allow members of the overflowing crowd to speak in support of Superintendent Latham. An email was sent around earlier to principals and other school department personnel to encourage them to attend the night's meeting. It seems to me that this is a questionable if not unethical use of the Lynn Public School's e mail system.

I strongly encourage you to investigate these improprieties and look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Stanley H. Wotring, Jr.

  1. How often is the Mayor not present for Open Mic and not at the school committee meetings at the beginning?

    1. Usually she's there and a suspicious executive session for contract discussion was put on the agenda but it was not put forth because of improper posting. Latham said she put it on.
