Lynn School officials are scrambling to devise alternatives to handle the now "homeless" 700 elementary students. COBBETT is being closed due to numerous HEALTH CODE violations ranging from asbestos contamination to not having the proper number of restrooms for a building whose principal occupants are under the age of 13.
"We may be faced with delaying the start of the school year and subsequently extending the end of the school year", one anonymous official was quoted as saying.
Calls to the administration were characteristically un-returned.

You had me fuming...I thought this was true! I am sure many of our schools do actually have health code violations. The problem is, none of the local or state officials seem to care.

ReplyDeleteI do a War of the Worlds lesson every year close to the anniversary. It was October 30th, 1938. I have a recording of the show - not that we have time to listen to it all in a half year production-oriented course. We see a short documentary and relate it to all the false messages circulated on facebook and other social networks that people take for fact and run with..
