Gathering in a basement last night, the group of parents
forming the LYNN PARENTS ORGANIZING for BETTER EDUCATION pushed forward its
positive agenda on how parents and educators could better interface to connect
for our common goals.
A movement is underway. What had started as a handful of
parents has become a full-fledged group. There is even talk of T-shirts.
Although there was around half as many there last night
as where at the COOK-OUT KICK-OFF at JESSE’s house SUNDAY night. People came
last night without the promise that JESSE would be on the grill. On top of that
there were some DIFFERENT people, suggesting the width of this movement. In
fact there was a need to translate every word.
Our differences represent the potential for energy, for
ACTION. It is the coming together that will release that energy. Off we will
go.
The conducting of a survey was discussed which poll
parents at the different schools on what changes would need to be made at OUR
schools and what WE need to do to make them. It was not about CONFRONTATION, it
was about OWNERSHIP.
This sounds like a really go start. Parents
