BLAST BREAKS OUT AT PUBLIC HEARING
Business came to a standstill at the LSC meeting because the committee told the public to "Go pound sand".
The sound from the repeating rhythm made it impossible to hear what we are actually paying privileged people.
I wish I could have been there. What angers me most about this whole thing is that these are elected officials, elected by us, the people, to represent us and, in the case of the school committee, our children. Most are not doing that and the parents that speak up are duly ignored and business is conducted as usual, which happens to be any damn way they want to conduct it. SMH.
Believe it was 6-1 with only Donna Coppola opposing to pass the $116M budget. I love how after mentioning how Latham got a $25,000 raise, some principals got $117,000 in raises and the creation of other new administrator positions, Latham and committee members still have the nerve to claim there are not enough funds to improve our schools. Really?? There didn't seem to be any problem at all finding the $142,000+ for all the administrators. I guess in Lynn, there is only a problem finding funding for the actual schools. I've said it before, Dr. Latham and our current school committee have wreaked such havoc on our schools, that they will be the cause of the eventual downfall of Lynn Public Schools. Our school district is already near being THE worst school district in the entire state out of about 300 or so school districts. I think that says a lot about the damage Dr. Latham and our school committee has already done. It is very sad and unfortunate and the only ones who will continue to suffer the consequences of the actions of Dr. Latham and our school committee are all the children who attend Lynn publc schools.

What was the vote on the budget? Was it the usual 4-3?
