PROMOTING FROM WITHIN

I wonder what new jobs will be created after the PUBLIC HEARING?  PAYBACK PRINCESS POWERS was PROMOTED after her last touting of how FINE the good doctor is doing at FAILING. Our kids go without textbooks just so we can keep COMMERCIAL STREET CROWDED

Going by the track record, if you talk the tout, that's your ticket to the top. I hear rumblings about the revival of an ASSISTANT CURRICULUM DIRECTOR position, a plum position to be reinstated at a most opportune time, sure to insure the investment of lingering if latent loyalty.

OUR KIDS PAY THE PRICE, THEY PICK UP THE PAY!

  1. Once again, you give us evidence of being the fool that you are!!!

There are several Assistant Directors of Curriculum for several subject areas, so what is the non-sense that you are talking about??

  2. Fine, just give me a little more detail to back up your argument. Us fools make mistakes, but if I am such a complete idiot, what's to worry? The actual truth would make anything I say irrelevant.

  3. Who do you think will, coordinate each content area for the district if we do not have these people. It is a lot of work, everyone needs to be current and on the same page, it is a huge school system. There is no magic fairy that does this work??? Even tiny districts have these people....do your research!

    1. Everyone needs to be current and on the same page? Why then do some schools have smartboards, new desks, new supplies, new books, etc while others are using the same textbooks from the 80's or don't even have textbooks and supplies? Why do some schools get to use new exciting curriculum (as Dr. Latham and company proclaim it to be) for certain subject matter, while other schools or classrooms do not? Why do only certain neighborhoods get to have their children attend this wonderful new innovation school that is suppose to be happening that offers a much better education (again as proclaimed by Dr. Latham and company) but other neighbors do not? Do only certain children in this city deserve a better education and not others? Please let me know if you would like me to provide any more examples of this so called "current and same page curriculum" you claim this district to have...I have many more! Also, in the future, before you result to childish name calling, perhaps YOU should make sure YOU have your facts and evidence straight. Otherwise, you may be the one looking like a "fool" (your word, not mine) I also urge you to at least have the courage to use your real name and please do your research!!

  5. Well we have not had these coordinators in Ll content areas ....that is why we need to hire people . That is why educated qualified people need to fill these jobs. Dr Latham is trying to equal the playing field but her decisions are not always well received by everyone. In any effort to give all elementary schols the same qualified personnel so that all the schools would have the same advantages she cut librarians and offered gym music art and reading teachers so all would have an equal playing field. She also tried to reduce class size but that was up to the principals and some decided to keep large classes. That isn't fact. As far as text books being outdated...I have none at my school that are outdated. In large school, system there are typically many types of schools to serve all types of students, not everyone can go to the same school...it is an application process like Boston Latin, etc. or KIPP the best and the brightest get the opportunity ..that is life ! is it fair ? maybe not but it is not a Lynn thing it is a life thing. I did not name call, not my style...several no name replies .This is not socialism in our country. Sorry

    1. Well one thing is for sure....you have just as many excuses as Dr. Latham and Company for why our schools and district are so deplorable. I especially find it entertaining to listening to her (and now you) blame principals for what goes on in HER district. She is the superintendent, correct? They are a convenient scapegoat for her and her supporters. Even Patti Capano tried blaming them for the dresscode, when it is the school committee's responsibility to determine the dresscode. Although, I suppose Dr. Latham has set the stage for how her subordinates should act, which is why many of our schools and our district lacks leadership. Also, I am curious to know how closing schools, Fallon for example, is "trying to reduce class size"? Up until a few months ago, Dr. Latham denied we even had an overcrowding issue, and in fact, she said she didn't believe class size had an impact on learning. Finally, the fact that you are a teacher and believe that "it is life" that the children in our city are forced to attend failing schools in a failing district is utterly disgusting, but also part of the problem LPS is facing!! Perhaps this is why you refuse to leave your name.

    2. The librarians were cut I believe a year before the reading teachers were added. Where did that money go for that year?
