PAY(BACK) RAISE?

QUID QUO PRO. My Latin's not too good, in fact it's nonexistent, maybe I should have used a saying that's easier for my poor little disabled mind to understand. "YOU SCRATCH MY BACK, I'LL SCRATCH YOURS".

It seems that KIMBERLEE POWERS is up for a BIG promotion THURSDAY night at the LSC meeting. This INGALLS principal and chief caretaker down at the FARM (Ingall garden) is going to be appointed EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION for LPS,  SUE ROWE'S old job.

Funny, I never saw no POSTING for that important position and well MS. POWERS was one of those out-of-town mercenaries who proclaimed profusely on the need to extend DR. LATHAM'S contract.

PROBABLY JUST A COINCIDENCE.

  1. I guess it pays to support your superintendent.

    1. Too bad the kids are paying for it everyday by having to sit in hot overcrowded classrooms(some without windows)that lack the required and necessary resources they need to succeed while the super and company are sitting in their nice big comfy air conditioned offices with all the resources they need plus a 6 figure salary and let's not forget the $350 per month car allowance to drive around the corner. Since we and the kids are stuck with her destruction for the next 3 years, let's pray we can at least get the mayor out and get someone in who will actually support our schools and kids by voting appropriately.

  2. It's kind of ironic that this promotion is happening the SAME day that they are going to set a day for the PUBLIC HEARING!

    1. As admirable as your efforts have been, she is not going anywhere and she knows it.She is just playing the game and rolling with the punches by sitting through all these procedures. She knows she is not going anywhere and is not sweating it at all

    2. You are right, she's not sweating. Her offce is air-conditioned.

  3. I don't think Kim is from out-of-town, unless you determine this based on whether one was born at Union Hospital (and she very well may have been). This line of commenting is inconsequential. What is relevant is if she is qualified for the job, which she definitely is. I think you're concerned about the hiring process, which may or may not be problematic.

    1. I'm willing to bet she would not have been proclaiming her undying love for the super unless there was something in it for her (oh wait, there was)Any person within the educational system who really believes the super of a failing district is doing a good job, definitely has their own agenda in mind.I don't recall any teachers or parents lining up to brag about and defend Latham, did you?

  4. The job was posted and Mrs. Powers is qualified to be appointed. What does the announcement of her appointment have to do with the public hearing? Please explain.

    1. There was another applicant who had more curriculum experience than KP, why didn't she get the job?

    2. I don't know. Did she testify on LATHAM'S behalf?
