Given the dramatic testimony given at last night's school committee meeting by CFO Caron on the perilous financial state the City of Lynn is in, I can not stress strongly enough that there needs to be some reconsideration about the recently passed exorbitant raises. While I do realize the amounts are small in comparison to the amouns needed, the message it sends is disheartening.
At a time when we are struggling to underfund our schools, the raises represent an appearance of self centered corruption. It is myhope that you will bring before the council a more fiscally responsible proposal.
