WELL LOOK-IE HERE
City of Lynn will hold public hearings on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 8:00 o'clock p.m. in Council Chambers, Lynn City Hall on the following Bond Order:
A BOND ORDER TO PAY COSTS OF CONSTRUCTING, ORIGINALLY EQUIPPING AND FURNISHING A NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL BE IT ORDERED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNN AS FOLLOWS:
That the City appropriates the amount of Ninety Million Dollars ($90,000,000) for the purpose of paying costs of constructing, originally equipping and furnishing a new
Thurgood Marshall Middle School, to be located at (92 -118 - 120 Brookline Street Address), in Lynn, including the payment of all costs incidental or related thereto (the
"Project"), which school facility shall have an anticipated useful life as an educational facility for the instruction of school children for at least 50 years, and for which the
City may be eligible for a grant from the Massachusetts School Building Authority ("MSBA"), said amount to be expended at the direction of the School Building
Committee. To meet this appropriation the City Treasurer, with the approval of the Mayor, is hereby authorized to borrow the sum of Ninety Million Dollars
($90,000,000) under and pursuant to Chapter 44, Section 7, Clause (3) of the General Laws, as amended and supplemented, or any other enabling authority, and
to issue bonds or notes of the City therefor
Okay, I would bet this is just a formality. ALTHOUGH.........
I have been known to be wrong on occasion.Anyway I would imagine it might be an opportunity to ASK why the 80% is not now somewhat less. And then there are potential overruns (You know it'll go overbudget). This may be a formality bur then again it doesn't sound wuite so much like a done deal.
Since you all didn't see fit to ELECT me, I guess U will just have to WATCH the construction!
