LYNN SCHOOL WATCH
781 714-5614
Dr. Latham,
I realize you must be extremely busy but I would have thought by now you would have responded to one of my recent letters. Especially the one involving the health and safety of that student at Sisson since there is the unofficial holiday lull in school committee meetings. Even so I am sure you have plenty to keep you busy.Knowing that you don’t read my blog, I did want to update you however at what transpired at English High School. It seems that at last WED. School council meeting it seemed to be eluded to that a possible reason that Classical achieved Level 1 status and English seems to be stuck at Level 3 has much to do with the fact that students from the Asian culture tend to go there whereas Latin ones are more prevalent there. That particular post chronicling that discussion has rapidly entered into the top five viewed entries. No one has so far claimed that I heard wrong or misrepresented the truth. At the very least, such a belief seems to downplay the hard work put in from Classical’s students, teachers, and staff. Personally, I think a more productive approach would have been to examine what that school is doing right rather than attribute it to some cultural skew. Sincerely, Stanley H. Wotring, Jr.
PLEASE BE AWARE I WILL PUBLISH THIS LETTER IN ITS ENTIRETY ON MY BLOG, LYNN SCHOOL WATCH, AS WELL AS YOUR RESPONSE, IF ANY.
