ONE OF OUR NATION'S LEADERS
FORD SCHOOL recieved a plaque and banner yesterday designating it a SUPERSCHOOL. Joining DR. CRANE (principal), the school's SPED teachers, people from the ELL DEPARTMENT, SUE ROWE (Deputy Superintendent),, DR. CHERYL MENINO (SPED Director), and MARIA CARRASCO (LSC).
Only 50 school across the nation have been designated an IMAGINATION SUPERSCHOOL and TWO of them are in LYNN, FORD and INGALLS.IMAGINE LEARNING provides an online learning platform that provides ELL assistance FOR the K-5 grades..
IMAGINE LEARNING is out of PROVO, UTAH but is active in several countries across the world, including, BRAZIL, MEXICO, and several others. Currently the top administrative of the company is in VIETNAM, on an invitation extended by the government. The leaders of the government realize the importance of having their citizens being able to understand ENGLISH.
Initially the program started out in the SPED department and DR. MENINO gave all the credit to colleague JESSICA MCGLAULIN for discovering its eistence. The success of the program quickly mushroomed once EUNICE ALDRIDGE and the ELL Department came on board.
Every year the SPED Department purchases a few additional perpetual licenses and IMAGINE LEARNING assists in the program growth by allowing the earning of additional licenses through some sort of usage REBATE.
Because of IMAGINE LEARNING'S generosity through the rebates, they have helped DR. CRANE set up a PILOT PROGRAM allowing parents to work on this exciting program. The overriding theory is that with the parents greater understanding of ENGLISH, they will become more able to become involved in their child's educational life.
Anecdotal stories about how young students started out being able to only read ENGLISH story's at a very low level but in a course of a year being able to advance multiple levels gives one an idea of the transformational power of this program.
