GO WITH IT!
We, the undersigned DEMAND that a public hearing be held whereby our school committee member's can publicly justify for the exorbitant raise granted to our superintendent of schools behind closed doors in private. While we appreciate the need to keep personnel matters private, we feel that such a large increase entitles the tax paying public some explanation
SOUNDS GOOD TO ME, WHILE YOU ARE AT IT, LETS HAVE THE MAYOR JUSTIFY WHY HER STAFF OF TWO, GOT RAISES WITH NO DEGREES OR QUALIFICATIONS....

SHE HAS NOT VOTED FOR OUR KIDS ONCE....NOT FAIR AT ALL.....
Dear Lynn homeowners: Half of the property taxes you pay goes to the schools. Property taxes in Lynn are outrageous with many paying in excess of $3000 and $4000 per year. Our schools are in deplorable physical and academic condition. Most are considered to be under-performing by the state and 2 are considered to be failing, as is our district as a whole. Our classrooms are overcrowded and chaotic, teachers are not provided with the necessary resources and supplies needed to teach their class, and the children are not provided with the necessary resources and supplies they need to learn and receive an adequate education. However, our superintendent just dished out tens of thousands of dollars in raises to a very selective group of principals already making 6 figures, we are paying secretaries salaries of $50, 60, and even $90,000, and even though Dr. Latham made I believe $184,000 last year, she is demanding more, which has held been holding up her contract renewal.....Until now, where she just got a $25,000 raise!! The next time you write out that check to the city, please think about where your money is going and please start getting involved in what is going on in our schools and speaking up. Even if you choose to send your kids to private school or you do not even have kids, you are still paying for the public schools!! Also, please remember this come elections for Mayor and school committee and remember that Charlie Gallo, John Ford, Patti Capano and Mayor Kennedy were the ones who approved this huge raise using YOUR money!! Unless of course you don't mind dishing out your hard earned money to a failing school district and to the person who is running and leading that failing district.
ReplyDeleteOnce again....How is it that Dr. Latham and her administration are always telling us parents that there is not enough money for pretty much anything and that we parents are illegally told that we must purchase required supplies for our kids because the district is not providing them, yet money ALWAYS seems to appear (millions in fact) for administrative positions and raises???
