I just don't understand. The PARENT INFORMATION PAGE of the LPS budget has had a DROP-OUT PREVENTION line ZERO FUNDED for at least the past two years. The amount of money we receive from the statetis closely tied to how many kids are actually coming to school. You would think some positive program to encourage the kids to come would be a net money maker for the school. I mean if you didn't realize the need for the program, why even have the line to zero fund?
LET'S SEE WHAT WE DO HAVE? Well we have 3.4 people at a cost of a little over $251,000. The cost is ACTUALLY much greater than that because I would guess by the time these people get involved we have already LOST state money for lack of attendance.
It would seem to me a little money spend on the front end where you at least have a CHANCE of recouping your investment would make more sense than putting all your eggs in the punitive basket.
