Well not exactly. Before the beginning of last night's LSC meeting a parent from Pickering spoke at OPEN-MIKE to let everyone know of the deplorable conditions at PICKERING MIDDLE SCHOOL. We all learned about the BATHROOM BALLY-HOO.
According to this parent, there are only bathrooms on one of three floors available to the students. To make matters worse, only 4 urinals are functioning so when things get BUSY, there is a BATHROOM BACKUP. I guess how often kind of depends on the food the cafeteria is serving.
This comment included the statement PRISONERS ARE TREATED MORE HUMANELY THAN OUR KIDS. No rebuttal was offered despite the fact that counting ATTORNEY MIHOS, three lawyers were at the table. Oh I forgot, OPEN-MIKE is not intended for an exchange of views..
Thank you Stanley for discussing this! It is amazing that the Mayor had her children at Pickering and "she said it was in fine condition" Well, I guess if you are always under the influence than you might think "everything is fine". Just saying....
ReplyDeleteAs for the majority of parents, we think it needs to go to the Media!!! It is a disgrace, appalling and just mind blowing.....dirty!
Our schools need major improvements and we are passing up on numerous opportunities to get monies out there. Why???? Ask, John Ford, Chair of the buidlings and grounds.....
What a joke! Then, we have Gallo. Does he talk? Oh, thats right he has no children in LPS and attended prviate schools. But, seats on a the school committee....why?
What ever happened to individual school improvement plans? Have you ever asked??????
Perhaps videos/pictures need to be taken that show these deplorable conditions at our schools. This should be easy to do with the use of cellphones today. Then if our superintendent refuses to take action (which I am sure she will) send those pictures and videos to every media source.
ReplyDeleteI have not been to Cobbett, but if it looks like Pickering or close to it, people need to be held accountable! What is Mike Donovans job? Why do our schools look this way? I have been to many schools in Lynn and ALL of them need numerous repairs even Shoemaker and LynnWoods. They are all mostly over 100 years old and in desperate need of repairs and no one is looking into the School Improvement Plans for each building. Start calling the School Committee members and the Mayor and HOLD them responsible and accountable for making these changes! See if they ever walked into any of these buildings or had their children or family members attend. I would say NOT!!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, things will only get worse with the current SC board and Mayor.......WE NEED CHANGE....
MAKE SURE YOU AND FAMILY VOTE FOR OUR CHILDREN NEXT TIME!
