WHEN YOU CHECK OUT THE FY 113 LPS BUDGET, IT WON'T BE IN THE LIBRARY

WITH A $7.5 MILLION INCREASE IN THE FY 13 LPS BUDGET surely we will be returning librarians to all the old schools and adding new ones?

Don't worry, we can count on CENTERBOARD for our reading. After all, think how much you can learn from one free book!

  1. LPS cannot afford to return librarians to the schools because some of the salaries they are paying to people are absolutely appalling!! For instance, I just discovered the SECRETARY for the school committee get paids over $90,000 per year!! Yes the SECRETARY!! Hey we don't need librarians or books right....I mean it's not like the kids are failing the MCAS, or we have under-performing and failing schools or we are a failing district!! The fact that we don't have enough teachers, enough classrooms, enough textbooks, enough supplies, or librarians in our school libraries, but we are hiring new administrators with 6 figure incomes, issuing raises to administrators who already make 6 figures or close to it, have a superintendent who wants more than the $184,000 she received last year, and we are paying secretaries over $90,000 per year is so utterly deplorable!! Dr. Latham, the entire administration, the school committee and the mayor should all be ashamed of themselves!!
