UNDRESS FOR SUCCESS

Lynn English student's 'lesbian' t-shirt sparks dress code debate

Sorry Rick, that's the uncomfortable thing about CIVIL RIGHTS, you can't pick and choose when you want to apply them. We need not be concerned so much what is on the outside of our students as what is on the inside.

As for CAPANO'S and FORD'S faith that this is an issue that the PRINCIPAL MR. STRANGIE should be able to handle. I believe there is video evidence out there that would call into question his capabilities.

  1. Congrats to this student for standing up for herself and her rights!! It baffles me that the VP, principals and others thought that this shirt could be offensive, yet the majority of kids are walking around with their pants halfway off and that's not?? The enforcement of the LPS dresscode is a joke!! There is no uniformity throughout each school or district. What is acceptable to one teacher or administrator may not be for another, so a kid can go the entire day wearing something without any issues and then all of a sudden in his last class that teacher may have an issue. It's ridiculous! My favorite is the fact that shorts can only be worn in September and June. Why? If it's OK to wear shorts in those 2 months, why not the other months? Also, boys shorts must be below the knee, yet girls are allowed to wear "capris" or skirts that are above the knee. Again, ridiculous!!
