READING PROBLEMS

The trick here is to try and read BETWEEN the lines. Let's see, we have 3 MIDDLE schools. At one, MARSHALL, the principal has already went through an interview process at WAKEFIELD and been selected and at the last minute turned the job offer down.

Now we see the PICKERING principal is pondering going elsewhere. What does that say about the work environment?

  1. It says that people don't want to stay in the same job forever? It says that people want new experiences? It says that people want to earn more money? Do you think it fosters new ideas and innovative thinking when the same person is in a job for 20 years or more, in rare rare cases maybe but generally not. That is part of the problem in this city....same people...all graduated from the same college...lots of them related!

    1. I think you may be a bit confused. Our principals are not allowed to foster new ideas and innovative thinking, Dr. Latham will not allow it. It is her way or the highway. It is my understanding that she has made that pretty clear. However, I do agree that part of the problem in our city is having same people in positions making the same poor decisions, which is why Dr. Latham's position should be posted so we can at least see if there is a better and more qualified candidate out there.
