TRANSLATION TROUBLE

Unexcused absences irk Lynn school super

Irony. That's a word that comes to mind or how about HYPOCRITICAL. The same day the ITEM runs a headline story where people are begging the community to believe Ward 3 Councilor CYR is just a poor misunderstood soul and the whole matter was just a matter of miscommunication. I was at the Council meeting he apologized. He seemed as sincere as any politician who trips over their words. We are supposed to feel sorry for him.

Just below the headlines is this story that says we need to take a hard line because that same population doesn't play by our rules. Funny, it's about the same Spanish population. Oh yeah, FRANCES MARTINEZ works for LPS.

It is true we do not control the DOE's bookkeeping rules and we have to live by  them. Still I would like to be reading a story about how the superintendent and the LSC plan to address the problem without whining or pointing out commercial traffic patterns.

WORDS MATTER!

Maybe we should try a T-shirt campaign, "All The Cool Kids Go To School".

  1. We parents know exactly how Dr. Latham feels....it irks us too when members of her staff don't show up for meetings or events when they are suppose to be there (like PAC meetings for example)
