NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT

I been thinking again. You know our present superintendent, DR. LATHAM, well we are on the hook for her salary until June, no matter what. It's just the way her contract is written. Fire her today and we still have to pay. So we just might as well just let it run out and not renew it. I mean we got to spend the money for her salary anyway.

WELL......

Firing her now does have a couple advantages. First it might stop the ticker on some of those perks like a car allowance and other miscellanous expenses.

BUT....

It also might prevent further costly decisions like the ones that ravaged the SPED budget to pay for hiring friends and other administrators to add to the crowding down at COMMERCIAL STREET.

JUST A THOUGHT....

What are you thinking? You should let the Mayor know. That smart lady is often the deciding vote in a lot of matters,

  2. IT ALL STARTS AT THE TOP.....lots of promises and nothing to show for it! Look at her office or lack of I should say! What a joke!!!!! Lynn really got screwed good this time. She will go down i nthe history of Lynn as the worse MAYOR we have ever had. "you sleep with the emeny, you become one of the enemies" that should be her battle cry!!! Make sure you educate your voters, so they do not VOTE her in again. After all, she only won, by default!
RIP Pat McManus....we really miss you.

    1. Won by default? I'm pretty sure she was NOT unopposed. Sounds like a case of sour grapes to me...

Mayor Kennedy is the fairest of them all...she has done a lot to straighten out City Hall including hiring staff who speak more than one language and continues to cut through all the half thought out crap the council comes up with to look "good" to the public.

I must not live in the same city as you. If you think one of the good ol' boys is where you should place your next vote then you must be one of them!

    2. Property taxes went up 3 times under this mayor - just like Clancy said she would do. What do the property owners have to show for high taxes? What has she done to improve schools? Where are the new middle schools Clancy would have gotten? Why approve additional admins when classes are so over crowded? Your evaluation of what is important to parents is odd - won by default because the unions hated Clancy and it is was 'anyone but vote' she got. If all you can think as accomplishments for her is she hired 2 or 3 staff speaking Spanish that is not going to do it for the voters this time.

    3. I agree with ANON 532 & 604.
The reality is that her office is a joke, just like her! No decisions, no return calls and they have used the Mayor's office to sway the election and candidates. So, do we now get the state or federal involved. BTW, raising a flag every month does not make a MAYOR! Jumping in a ring with idiots and going on a radio game show does not make a good MAYOR! Such a disgrace! Not to mention they way she carrys herself around this Great City (falling apart). She is either at a local bar or running around the city with her FF boyfriend. Poor husband and kids. They take the hit for her. Now, you mentioned her staff. Please tell me one good thing about them!!! OOOPPPS .NADA, NOTHING...She is always giving to the minorities in this city, what about the middle class hardworking people who have lived here all their lives????? I guees you have to be a minority to get her attention...oh wait...we are NOW THE MINORITY IN LYNN......
SHAME ON HER AND HER OFFICE RATS.....

    4. All the 'minorities' I talk to about the Mayor are just as unhappy and have the same complaints as you do Anon1112 - the middle class - white or other - are getting short changed in this city.
