budget to boost education aid by $145M
I mean using the same logic that we used our SUPPOSED stolen SPED money to justify our last one this NEWS ought to give us the employment impetus to expand COMMERCIAL STREET still more, Come on now, we talk about growing our economy why nit our education administration?
With three more DEPUTIES we really could line them up in a ROWE. Just think we could have a new hit show on LYNNCAM called BOWLING FOR DEPUTIES.
The only problem is well there are a couple of problems actually. One, the money is not really there, it's only from a PROPOSED budget. The legislature has to sign on.
AND....
LPS will only get a SLICE of that increase.
BUT.....,
small details like those didn't stop us from spending our potentially pilfered dollars from SPED in LPS'S own newest member of our DEPUTY DUO. I mean there is no political or practical guarantee that the CIRCUIT BREAKER reimbursement rate will stay at these rates. Administrations and priorities change. This new found SPED treasure should have been invested in our kids and not some administrator's car allowance.
GOT A PERFECT IDEA...WHY NOT HAVE A DEPUTY IN CHARGE OF SPED...SPED IS A WORLD IN IT'S OWN...NO ONE KNOWS WHAT SPED IS REALLY ALL ABOUT...I would love to ask each one if they know what an IEP reall is and what is the law governing the IEP...don't think any administrator down at Commercial St. has a clue...maybe taking some the burden off the SPED Director would be a good idea, because it's not the easiest job and have her OVERSEE THE OUTSIDE PLACEMENTS ONLY...get some programs developed so kids can stay in Lynn and make friends locally, get some grant money to build prestige programs that we are paying so much to get for the kids, and have the Deputy do some hands on work learning what SPED really is...maybe the lawyer could be let go and the money for the Deputy would be a better idea...let's think reality, what can we do better, and not get mad about the position...I think we need the position more than we really know...anyone thought about contracting the man who brought the Lynn SPED Dept. to the most recognized programs nationally in to help the Deputy fix the real problems...I'm just saying let's work for the better...forget the title make it work...I believe it can be successful and extremely beneficial...who cares who gets it, get the programs up and running, and eleviate the director some breathing space...believe me I am no fan of the Director...let's just be fair, functional, and play nice...only one guy who can fix the problems so give Mr. Driscoll a call let's stop the nonsense.
