HOW TO BEAT A BULLY

Fired aide files complaint vs. Kennedy

Bullying doesn't have to involve punches in parks or stealing student's milk money (Don't worry Charlie, it's not chocolate milk). intimidation is the most effective and abusive derivative of the dereliction.

I believe in the article when the story first broke, the mayor denied that they the police officers were there for Gardy, maybe they weren't then why were they there? Probably to turn in Parking tickets, perhaps?

The most troubling thing to me was the raises relative to the educational background. The mayor as Chairwoman of the School Committee should value education over potential political gain. What is she teaching about the value of education?

What Gardy is modeling for all to see is how to stand up against being put down.

  1. Stanley! you are so right!
GARDY wil lwin and should win. City Hall has plenty of RATS running around since this all broke. It is shocking that she would give the two girls in the office such a large raise for NO education, and for being continuously RUDE to the public. A full investigation of that office needs to happen! How many people can be fired or leave that office...that tells me and the public that the MAyor has no control and is not capable of running our great city. I am sure much MORE is going to come out of this! I now know why she voted for the 800,000 to be given to deputy & secretary....she has not clue how to budget! WHAT A DISGRACE...I am now going to question her as an attorney. Why was she driving a car for GLSS? Stanley let the investigation begin!

  2. I would be intimidated if I saw 3 of the city's police standing there and walking me out. What is worse is that she at first denied it. What minorities are left in City Hall now? A city with 50% minority population - not very representative of the city.

  3. Mr. Stanley,
I am looking forward to see what you are pointing toward. Stanley will look into it I am sure. I have always found Gardy to be the only person in thet office who was helpful and nice. I have lived in Lynn my whole life. We raised our children here and have lived in our home for the past 40 years. I am very disappointed in our Mayor. Everyday it is something new. She always appears unkept, uninformed and unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. I have many friends in city hall and I was told that four police officers were in fact outside her office and that the girls i nthe office were present for Mr. Gardy's termination. How inappropriate. We as a city should have done our home work better before voting her in. Sometimes the devil you know is better that the devil you do not know! This is perfect proof. I sure hope our city can handle yet another law suit. As well as negative press!
I also question the statments in the paper by Mr. Phelan. We have always voted for him, but I do not understand why he would try and defend someone who has speant the last few years talking so badly about him and always trying to get at him. The politics in this city is a major reason why, we are now considering selling our home and moving out of Lynn. I am very concerned for the well fair of my grandchildren in this city and schools.

  4. $29,000.00 and $20,000 raises? Where can I apply for a job with the (next) mayor?

  5. Those women have always been very attentive and helpful to me. You complain about city government being slanted and ineffective... In private industry you can be fired and escorted out for no reason in a minute!!! Pick your poison , you cannot havit both ways fellows.
