Went to the screening tonight of The Anonymous People a story recovery from addiction and how it is a long term process often stigmatized by shame. The message was one that sort of hit home to me. You see I am in a life long recovery myself. I mean I'm never going to get healed but I'm always getting better.
When you honestly confront your problems then you can be proud of where you are. SILENCE IS DEADLY.
LPS was very well represented at this showing. Present that I saw were RICK STARBARD, JOHN FORD and MARIA CARRASCO (who showed up despite having pneumonia). Also sitting in the next row to my LEFT was DR.LATHAM.
GIVEN THAT OVER 20 MILLION PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED AND OVER 2O MORE MILLION PEOPLE ARE IN LONG-TERM RECOVERY THE BREATH AND ENORMATITY OF THIS PROBLEM IS OVERWHELMING.
With the increasing pressures of school and the loss of actual community brought on by the ILLUSIONS of SOCIAL MEDIA the problem threatens to only get worse.
Ain't no SHAME to be PROUD of your GAME.
