This is not good for Lynn! I believe our low income percentage has been about 83% of students, but this new economically disadvantage measure drops that percentage down to about 47% of students. Therefore, it appears this will have an impact on chapter 70 aid, and most likely other aid and grants we receive, resulting in a decrease or loss of aid and grants. It will also have an impact on the MSBA reimbursement rates, which again will most likely hurt us. This change, along with the continued failure to meet its NSS requirement, will have a significant financial impact on the city of Lynn and Lynn Public Schools. Remember that financial cliff I mentioned?
