Looks like LPS is losing yet another important cog to to the leadership team. Now both former Level 4 have serious disruptions to their respective specific administrations.
Stacy, who has recently been named the Principal of the Hadley Elementary School in Swampscott. Her passion for children and dedication to quality education are the foundation for her incredible work ethic
What effect will this have on these schools going forward?
I am glad for STACY, she was stymied at LPS. I do not think she was going to move up anytime soon here IRREGARDLESS of her respective talents or abilities. Sad but funny because the PRINCIPAL position is one of the least stable things in our system.
Her fate was sealed at the interview for the COBBETT principal position when MAYOR KENNEDY publicly questioned why she would even apply for the position given the fact her HUSBAND, FORMER COUNCIL PRESIDENT TIM PHELAN was running against her. Funny I didn't know the MAYOR hired the principals and even if she did STACY deserved ETHICAL treatment. I hadn't noticed that she was conjoined at the hip with her husband. This latest loss is just another leftover from a sickened political system.

Delete1. I think I only bashed her once when she first got the PM job at CONNERY. Now TIM that's a different matter. I loved playing games with alliteration. Remember I am a self-proclaimed EQUAL OPPORTUNITY OFFENDER.

Here is a true story and I for one am going to tell all of you something..It was told to Stacy Phelan from the Superintendent that she will NOT receive any kind of promotion regardless of her excellent talents for our children..It was stated "YOU MUST LOOK OUT FOR YOURSELF, MY HANDS ARE TIED"..HMMM!!!! That is very BAD folks...Stacy had asked what she needed to do in order to matriculate to become a principal, After all she would have never applied to a position if she was't qualified..Instead Dr. Latham hired a person with less accomplishments than Stacy. Funny isn't it! Dr. Latham was scared by what the mayor would say or do...This is sickening....The Mayor should know that is she is just the mayor and NOT the dictator...We the constituents of this city has lost not one BUT TWO great people who worked solely for our children and know we get second to none..

This is a sad day for the children of this city.. The people of this city needs to wake the hell up and get involved more, especially when it comes to your children's education. They speak against bullying and it is a crime, but it's okay to bully a person whose husband ran for Mayor and you can attack their family..There should be some kind of justice..(KARMA folks)..
Sadly, Dr. Latham rules the roost and has said that to the Mayor. And the Mayor accepts it. What right do the Interim principals have to change everything at a school that runs well. Already seeing this at Ford.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the MAYOR'S direct control of the MAYOR'S direct control of the Super's contract, I think is probably not in her actual control thanks to ED REFORM. However, she is capable of political control. SHE was the SWING vote in most of the school committee votes. YES she doesn't get along with DR. LATHAM but helps keep her around because the relationship can be mutually beneficial.
