NO NIGHT SCHOOL WHERE IT'S NEEDED

This fall will mark the FIRST twenty-plus years therer will not be NIGHT SCHOOL at the FORD SCHOOL. Last year some 350 adults went to either GED or ESL classes. With the retirement of  DR.CRANE this AUGUST, a VOID ha been left in the EDUCATIONAL continumn of learning.

I thought recent legislation mandated the PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM be more involved in the TOTAL life of the children not just the READIN and WRITIN hence the WRAP-AROUND iniative, new social worker at most of the schools, and programs for adult education at the former LEVEL 4 schools. We have been moving forward in our students social development......

EXCEPT.....

in the HIGHLANDS were EDUCATION has turned RETRO......

sure people are being directed to FACTEAU LEARY to sign-up to probably be put on a waiting list. In the meantime what's going to happen to those 350 people and what kind of message does that send to the 1000 or so kids who were directly related to those ADULTS?

WORK HARD TO GET AHEAD......IF YOU LIVE IN THE RIGHT ZIP CODE!

  1. The money can be redirected to serve the children in the scholl with reading coaches and math teachers. Etc. All these years there has been an severe lack of support staff at ford because dr crane spent the tittle 1 money on night school

The review team recommends that the district:

 Create a district parent support program, providing the parents of ELL students with the
opportunity to learn English and participate more fully in their children’s academic
