SO WE STILL MAY BE CAUGHT IN THE NET NET

Deputy Education Commissioner Jeff Wulfson said, "Most communities commit local tax dollars to school spending “significantly above” state spending requirements — but not Lynn. In recent years, the council appropriated at or below what the actual requirement is.”
Therefore, even if this legislation passes, Lynn better start spending the required amount on education and stop spending below that required amount. Spending less than what is required, even if it's within the 5%, is unacceptable!! If Lynn continues to spend less than what is required, we could be in a similar situation in the future, and who will be to blame then?
The city is on its way to resolving a multi-million-dollar spending conflict that triggered a state threat to withhold vital school money.
