Here is the reason MAYOR KENNEDY missed a CRUCIAL PERSONNEL SUBCOMMITTEE and MEETING OF THE WHOLE not to mention another POLICY SUBCOMMITTEE and MEETING OF THE WHOLE, and also missing over TWENTY minutes of the regular LSC meeting. Her absence included not being present for the presentation of some of the GEORGE F. LAUBNER ACADEMIC AND ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, the ONLY city-wide AWARD presented to MIDDLE and ELEMENTARY students. This tardiness was disrespectful to both the students and to the LYNN BUSINESS ED FOUNDATION who is a vital partner to LPS (I will elaborate on that partnership in a later post).
I can understand the MAYOR'S desire to be there. I mean ST. MARY'S graduates are LYNN residents too, well maybe NOT ALL. However the fact of the matter is that by city charter the MAYOR is obligated to chair the LSC. Like it or not, that's her JOB. That's why we voted for her. Some of us anyway.
It's not like the schedule for these meetings are a surprise. Also I am pretty sure that the sun usually comes up everyday and we are all operating on the same GREGORIAN calendar Schedules could have easily been altered such that no conflict occurred
SO DOES THAT MEAN THE MAYOR WILL ATTEND EVERY GRADUATION CEREMONY?.
