Dear Mayor and other members of the Lynn School Committee,
Not only am I a parent of a SPECIAL NEEDS student, I am also
a long-time board member of SPED PAC, currently holding office as Treasurer.
Although I am not surprised by the votes of certain individuals, I am outraged
by their brazen and possibly purely political desire to water-down the position
of ADMINISTRATOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION.
The fact that two IVY-LEAGUE lawyers seemingly conspired to
“dumb down” a position responsible for overseeing not only our most vulnerable
students but also approximately 30% of the LPS budget. Let me help you with the
math here, that’s $41.6 MILLION DOLLARS.
Hopefully those who played a part in this educational
injustice will reconsider their callous disregard for unfortunately is a
growing minority.
