Just got the following e mail.
this week there was a drone with a camera on it at my sons school and the principal did not think this was an issue parents needed to know about. whats your take the scool was harring ton and there were kids out at recess.
Definitely scary because you probably may never know who has access to those pictures. I mean it could be some pervert, TMZ, or your favorite Realtor. It's not so much a question of whether or not a note should have went home in this particular instance as the fact perhaps the school should do a better job making parents aware of the type world we now live in.
Between all the megadata collected with NSA sweeps to the debit card numbers stolen weekly at some big box store, the technology that frees us also traps us.
To answer the parents question - "Yes" but really a broader policy needs to be put in place to protect our children's privacy and security.
So now the question I put to the LYNN SCHOOL COMMITTEE members, "Whazz...Up!"
I will send a copy of this blog post to all the members and we will see just who answers.
Rick Starbard has already responded to this post. I have been told that since being notified of this he has spoken with Officer Ferrari, head school cop, who plans to address Chief Coppinger shortly about this potential problem and its implications to explore realistic options.
