Mary Audley,
I am writing to inquire about the status of the GORDON COLLEGE public hearing petition. As by now I am sure you are aware school committee member CHARLIE GALLO has questioned the legitimacy of said petition.
Since your office certified the signatures about two months ago, I do find the timeliness of these most recent objections suspect given that they threaten to delay the holding of such hearing violating the city charter.
Also given MR. GALLO’S attempts to limit or curtail who initiates or helps to bring forth a petition for a public hearing, I would like a formal ruling for clarification on just who has the right to do so as granted by the city charter.
