EQUAL TIME FOR NATASHA

School committee candidate Natasha M & M
Not clear on where private schools stop and public ones begin.

A lone fan of charters who hopes to win.
Counting on votes from those who get to send

To schools that are full of inequity's den.
On their own they get to fend.

They make rules they get to bend.
Off to somewhere no one's been.

  1. I think Natasha would be great on the school committee. I just hope her ties to that immigration group LPOBE don't hurt her chances.

  2. She is definitely different than any other candidate. Normally I would say her unabashed support of charter schools would be her albatross but this is an off year election and it's a whole new world. Charter parents are zealous and could be wielded into a substantial voting bloc that could possibly propel her to victory.

I agree with you her ties to LPOBE will hurt her but even more damaging than that is her ties to Neighbor-2-Neighbor. Both groups re unrealistic in terms of what the taxpayer can afford and much too confrontational. Lol pretty hypocritical coming from me but hey, I'm just keeping it real.

  3. Neighbor 2 Neighnor and LPOBE are one in the same. The same people run both groups and focus on immigrants and how everyone else should support and be responsible for.them. They love to create conflict and chaos without offering any realistic expectations or solutions. Natasha would be wise to break free from them or she may risk losing the election.

    1. You are wise. Both groups are quick to point out problems but fail to come up with real solutions. Lol, neither endorsed me last time.

  4. Really? Maria Carasco relies on N2N to win. I agree both groups are toxic, and don't understand reality in Lynn much, probably because Lissy the leader gets paid to commute from somewhere else. Do you know who is running these back door politics?

  5. Now I like MARIA personally. I even agree with some of her overall goals but where we disagree sometimes is how to get there. Imposing compliance with lofty standards never works in the long run and ends up taking you farther away from your goals. My favorite social philosopher, the late RODNEY KING summed it up best, "Can't we all just get along!".

I think the N2N support will be too cannibalistic. Their support alone will never get two candidates elected. Someone will need to carve out a different constituency. By the way, THE NEW LYNN COALITION which I am a part of is not exactly a Lynn thing.

  6. I attended a couple of lpobe meetings, but stopped because most of the members were not even parents of students. It was a group of seemingly nice individuals who felt the school department, city, state and country should accommodate and support all immigrants. They focused on holding the school department and teachers accountable for everything and parents, particularly immigrant parents, accountable for nothing. They focused on changes the school department should make, but didn't think parents should have to make any. It was not at all what I expected so I never went back. Their name is deceiving--they are not a group of Lynn parents, they are not organized, and they do not advocate for a better education for all students.

    1. You are partly right and mostly wrong. There is a lot of Lynn parents and they are very well organized. Unfortunately they are practically misinformed. There is NO money for the programs they are led to demand. However polarizing the issues into an us versus them detracts at any objective resolution of the many problems that we face.
