MAKEOVER DO-OVER

At the debate last night the wiring was secured to the gym floor with pink masking tape in tribute to BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Nice gesture, I heard someone in the audience say that being the fashion GOD that he is GQ should have worn pink socks. That would have been very symbolic and proven his comfort in his own skin.

What VIN SPIRITO chose to call attention to is the fact that we are the best of the worst when you lump all the similar size school districts. To me that doesn't evoke feelings of pride. Heck that makes me want to take a shower.

  1. Didn't F.O.R.D. say everything was ok because we were the best of the worst?

I thought GQ said that we should put a pre-k in every school (even though there isn't enough room for the children who are already there) and didn't he mention something during the last debate about there being a plethora of space in those SPED classes because they are capped at 12 kids?

And I'm pretty sure Gotta Go said that it was her long term goal to have goals?

Or did I misunderstand? Two minutes is not a lot of time to get your point across even when you were given the questions ahead of time.

  2. I believe that Spirito first disputed that our MCAS scores were poor and then Ford stated that we are the best when compared to similar districts (Lowell, Lawrence, Holyoke etc.) Interesting response considering that the question was "How would you improve special education in Lynn" - MCAS was mentioned as a point of reference, but apparently some missed the actual question. I won't comment on the rest -__-

  3. By not actually giving ideas on how to improve special ed., does that mean we're okay? Is it normal or GOOD that the state is on the verge of a "needs intervention". MCAS scores are only a sympton of the illness, not the illness itself.

  4. Cleo! You should comment. I'd love to know what you thought about the rest.
